Phantom Resonance: Nocturnal Assembly of Ethereal Beings and Digital Nature
本展覧会は、醍醐寺との協力により、長らく忘れられた古道具や資材に新たな 命を吹き込む対話型インスタレーションです。このインスタレーションは大規 模言語モデル (LLMs) の力によって実現されており、その本質は「ファントム レゾナンス」 という独自の解釈に基づいています。
"ファントムレゾナンス"というコンセプトは、大規模言語モデル (LLMs)が 特有の解釈であり、この展覧会で核心的に位置づけられています。 大規模言語 モデルは、人間の言語、文化、知識といった多様なデータの集積体です。この 集積体は、過去から現在に至るまでの人間活動と思考の"共鳴体"とも言えま す。一方で、 真言は霊的な次元での"共鳴体”であり、 世界とのより深い関係 性を示唆します。 この二つが交錯するのが「ファントムレゾナンス」であり、 それは計算機自然という新しいメディアの中で、過去と現在、物質と非物質が 結びつく独特の現象です。
ここでの「ファントムレゾナンス」は、大規模言語モデルと真言の複雑で非線 形的な共鳴現象を指します。この共鳴は、計算機自然という新しい形の自然や 新自然を生み出す可能性に焦点を当てています。 真言宗の教えや “モノに宿る 知性と魂”も、この計算機自然の中で新しい文脈で再解釈されます。
百鬼夜行―神話や伝説で語られる多種多様な存在ーは、この新しい「自然」の 中で新たな共鳴体として機能します。 この展覧会は、 物質と非物質、過去と現 在、人間と非人間が多次元的に共鳴する場であり、 その全てが「ファントムレ ゾナンス」によって結びつきます。 このような多層的な共鳴を通じて、精神的 な知恵や民俗学の新しい可能性を再確認することができるでしょう。
この展覧会は、持続可能性や文化の再発見といった現代の急募な課題に対して も新しい解釈と方向性を提供します。 その核心にあるのが「ファントムレゾナ ンス」一大規模言語モデルと真言が織り成す新しい共鳴現象一です。

This exhibition, in collaboration with Daigo-ji Temple, serves as an interactive installation that breathes new life into long-forgotten artifacts and materials.
Enabled by the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs), the installation's essence hinges on a unique interpretation termed "Phantom Resonance."
In the context of this exhibition, "Phantom Resonance" is a core concept facilitated by the interpretative prowess of LLMs. These language models are conglomerates of human language, culture, and knowledge, acting as a resonance chamber for human activities and thoughts spanning from past to present. Meanwhile, mantras serve as a spiritual resonating entity, hinting at deeper relationships with the world. The intersection of these two resonance entities manifests as "Phantom Resonance," a distinctive phenomenon within the new medium of computational nature, where the past and present, material and immaterial worlds intersect.
Here, "Phantom Resonance" refers to the intricate and nonlinear resonance phenomena between LLMs and mantras. This resonance focuses on the possibilities of birth for a new form of nature, or "new nature," within computational nature. The teachings of Shingon Buddhism and the "intelligence and souls residing in objects" are also recontextualized in this computational nature.
The Hyakki Yagyō-varied beings recounted in myths and legends-functions as a new resonating entity within this new "nature." This exhibition serves as a space where material and immaterial, past and present, human and non-human resonate in a multidimensional manner, all tied together through "Phantom Resonance." Through these layers of resonance, the exhibition allows for the reconfirmation of new possibilities in spiritual wisdom and folklore studies.
The exhibition also offers fresh interpretations and directions for pressing modern issues such as sustainability and cultural rediscovery. At its core lies "Phantom Resonance"—the new resonance phenomenon woven by LLMs and mantras.
