佐倉市肴町の人々に協力いただいて撮影した竹生島龍神の髪飾り．鰻屋は江戸からタイムスリップしてきた交錯する時空間の産物なのだが，落合がよく手刷りしているプラチナプリントの発明は1873年（ウィリアム・ウィリス）なのでちょっとだけ時代がずれている（江戸時代は1868年まで）．だけども江戸のお店が1868年にきっぱりなくなったわけでもなく，1873年にこんな絵があってもおかしくないのでここに飾ってある．つまり他のプラチナプリント作品も同様の解釈をしてくれると良いと思う．龍神が龍神を成すのは頭についた龍神が大きい意味を持っている．このモチーフは鰻龍にも継承されている．

The eel restaurant is a product of intersecting space-time that has time-slipped from the Edo period, but the invention of the platinum print that I often hand-print (by William Willis in 1873) is slightly off in time (the Edo period ended in 1868). However, Edo-period shops didn't disappear completely in 1868, and it wouldn't be strange to have such a picture in 1873, so it's displayed here. I hope other platinum print works can be interpreted similarly. For a dragon god to become a dragon god, the dragon god on the head holds great significance. This motif is also inherited by the eel dragon.
