記憶の駕籠，時空を編む ∽ 日下部民藝館 2020–2025

"Kago of Memories, Weaving Spacetime ∽ Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum 2020–2025" is a documentary tracing Yoichi Ochiai's five-year journey of exhibitions at Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum, Takayama, from 2020 to 2025. Injecting his concept of "Digital Nature" into a traditional Edo-period townhouse, Ochiai reinterpreted local memories and folk craft traditions through cutting-edge digital technologies. Incorporating platinum prints, AI, Buddhist mandalas, interactions between Enkū Buddha sculptures and electronic music, and even Shinto rituals, the museum itself became a laboratory dissolving boundaries between tradition and innovation, materiality and information, human and machine. These experiments fostered new dialogues between folk art and digital culture, illuminating Ochiai's consistent inquiry into a post-anthropocentric view of nature. This documentary offers the resulting "woven spacetime," serving as a memory device open to future possibilities.
